Who Is @faz3? The Untold Story of Dubai’s Crown Prince

Beyond the Handle: The World and Persona of @faz3

In an era where social media feeds are flooded with carefully curated personas and hyper-polished content, few figures manage to bridge the gap between traditional royal duty and digital-age relatability quite like Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, better known to millions across the globe by his digital moniker, @faz3.

As the Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Hamdan holds immense political and executive responsibility. Yet, online, he is simply “Fazza”—a pen name meaning “the one who helps”—sharing sweeping aerial photography, high-octane adventure sports, heartfelt Nabati poetry, and quiet glimpses of everyday humanity with a global audience of millions.

The Origin of “Fazza”

Long before smartphones and social media algorithms defined modern influence, Sheikh Hamdan began writing traditional Nabati poetry under the pen name Fazza. Inspired by a legendary knight of old who rushed to the aid of the distressed, the name reflects a ethos of chivalry, community support, and empathy.

When he transitioned to digital platforms—securing the handle @faz3 (a stylistic variation of his pen name)—he brought that same poetic soul to the internet. Rather than utilizing digital channels strictly as a formal broadcasting tool for state announcements, he turned his feed into an open window onto his life, blending the grandeur of leadership with the warmth of a storyteller.

A Digital Mosaic: Adventure, Art, and Animals

With a massive multi-million-strong following, @faz3 stands out because his content captures a genuine sense of wonder. His grid features a breathtaking range of experiences:

• Extreme Sports & Athletics: From skydiving over the Palm Jumeirah and deep-sea diving to competing as a world-class equestrian endurance rider (winning gold at the FEI World Equestrian Games), Sheikh Hamdan treats adrenaline not as a spectacle, but as a lifestyle.
• Photography & Nature: An avid photographer—evident through his patronage of the Hamdan International Photography Award (HIPA)—he frequently shares jaw-dropping perspectives of Dubai’s fog-wrapped skyscrapers, desert wildlife, and pristine coastlines.
• A Soft Spot for Wildlife: His profound love for animals is a recurring theme. Whether he is interacting with majestic falcons, nursing rescued camels, or famously pausing his vehicle because a bird built a nest on his car hood, these candid moments humanize a major global figure.

Balancing Crown and Code

While @faz3 provides a masterclass in modern digital diplomacy and personal branding, Sheikh Hamdan’s day-to-day reality is anchored in heavy governance. In addition to his role as Dubai’s Crown Prince, his appointment as the UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence places him at the forefront of the nation’s strategic future.
